Specialization in Painting

I create abstract art with acrylic paint on canvas. My work is made in response to daily life inspired by the things I see, feel, and experience. I communicate my interpretations through layers of mark making and floods of color. Discovering and manipulating color is one of the most satisfying aspects of painting to me. Simultaneously, I am drawn to homogeneity and monochromatic color schemes. In my work I debate these conflicts by painting with vivid colors and challenging myself with purposeful absences. I hope to achieve the difficulty of simplicity while maintaining intrigue of variety.

I love art. It inspires, fuels, excites, and expands me. It challenges me to see the world differently and appreciate all the compositions around me. Overwhelmingly, it brings me joy and I strive to share that joy with others. In a world and time when darkness can feel threatening, I hope to spark light and spread color.
