lofted bedroom mural
While in school I was encouraged by a professor to push my work to a larger scale. At the time I took this to mean working on bigger canvases, but it sparked my interest in expanding even further.
After moving into my own place I had free reign to paint the walls and immediately took advantage. The apartment has a loft-like second floor that's very open and filled with light. I kept the walls and ceiling white to enhance the brightness and steer the focal point to the mural.
The colors used were pulled from other places in the apartment, bringing a sense of cohesiveness to the space.
I dreamed of the mural for weeks before but it was unplanned in its abstractness.
This was such an exciting process for me and I am eager to keep creating large and physical works with murals.
